The Stages of CKD: Calculating Your GFR

This GFR calculator provides a simple way to determine your GFR if you know your creatinine number from your blood test.

  • Normal GFR is 90 ml/min or more
  • Normal creatinine levels are usually between 0.8 and 1.2
  • A GFR of 45 means that kidneys are working at 45% of normal, or about half the normal rate
  • The rate at which GFR changes over time shows if CKD is progressing, and how quickly
